Why learn English from an early age?

Published Updated 5 min readBy Jules Verne teaching team

Starting English early does not turn a child into a bilingual overnight. But it builds useful habits: listening, imitating sounds and, above all, speaking without fear of mistakes.

A more available ear

Young children easily tell apart sounds that adults confuse. Regular exposure to English keeps that flexibility alive.

Less fear of mistakes

A child who plays with a language from preschool gets used to speaking it. That spoken ease is often what is most missing later on.

Regularity over intensity

A few minutes every day beat one long weekly session. Songs, short stories, games: enjoyment matters as much as content.

What parents can do

You do not need to speak fluent English. Watching a cartoon in English, listening to nursery rhymes, naming everyday objects: continuity is what counts.
