What to check before enrolling in a school?
Before committing, a few simple checks prevent disappointment. Here is a checklist to keep in mind during visits.
Status and authorisation of the school
Check the school’s status and its authorisation to operate. A serious school answers this directly and shows its documents.
Clarity of the project and team
Ask to meet a teaching lead. If they clearly explain the project, the progression and how difficulties are supported, that is a good sign.
Safety and premises
General condition, entrance security, playground, toilets, sports hall, first-aid room. Watch how adults speak to children during the visit.
Written financial terms
Insist on written financial terms: enrolment fees, tuition, supplies, transport, canteen, payment and cancellation terms.
Communication with families
How often reports come, meetings, the channel to reach a teacher. You will live with this for several years.
